Projects and fun...

Well, Levi's "projects" lately...

He was inspired by his last Lego Magazine, to enter a contest in it by creating something, so he decided to make a basketball court. He worked on it several different ways and finally found his favorite. Now I just have to send it in!

Project Numer 2: tiling CK's play kitchen countertop. He has wanted to do this for quite a while and we finally decided to do it this week. I wanted to figure out a way to do it without cutting anything so we had to break some and dry fit a lot and he LOVED every minute of the project.

Then some playing in the rain. Ollie sat in our dress up clothes bin in the playroom and watched them out the window. Very remniscent of CK's box sitting while we played baseball and other stuff with levi. Ollie just needs a deeper box than CK did so he doesn't pull himself up and out!

He is quite pleased with his spot as you can see!

And then one of our ball lover. He LOVES playing catch and throwing balls. He is pretty laid back overall, but when he sees a ball, watch out!

The sandbox...

So Craig and the kids built a sandbox....

(and yes, Ck's skirt is on backwards as per her usual fashion statement that says, "I can dress all by myself, pick out my own clothes and even change them a million times a day, shoes included!") back to the story....

And then the playing in the sand begins....

And continues......

(and no, he doesn't eat it, amazing!)

And continues......

For a LONG time and then covered to stay for another day, which is first thing the next morning in their pjs!

DEFINITELY a winner. Way to go, Dad! Everyone should have a sandbox. It's still providing hours of enjoyment each day! We have called it Ollie's early birthday present for all of them to enjoy! (But really the enjoyment might be more mine than anyone else because I can have time to get things done or just sit and relax in a chair beside the infamous "box". What fun!)

Storms...

I didn't really get any good pictures of the downed trees, power lines, etc from the tornados that went through the area last week, but here are the kids watching their show on the laptop one night in the dark and then two of them watching for the power guys to come and give us power again! Fortunately we were only out of power for about 3 days. Lots of people had it way worse, so we were very thankful! They did enjoy having their cousins, henry, simon, lucy and daniel over a couple times for baths and show since their power was out several days after ours. We also decided that everyone is friendlier when they don't have power! We talked to our neighbors more since no one had anything to do (we were helping clean up trees, etc for those that needed it too), but I guess we all should have a day without power every month or so to help us be more social!

Craig had off 2 1/2 days from school and then was delayed a couple days this week, but now they are back to normal and still get to be done at the same time for summer break because they declared them days of emergency so they don't have to be made up. So the countdown to summer break is on! Two weeks left! :)
