It is homecoming week at school so the kids dress up every day. Today was superhero monday so I sent batgirl and green lantern off to school! (We didnt have time in the monday morning rush to get a picture so they both took a selfie in the car.:))
And then came home to work on some shapes and patterns with green lantern's little brother, appropriately dressed in his current favorite outfit....all green.
I must admit that having paper around the house ALL the time can get a little irritating, but I know that this phase of life will not last forever and cute love notes will not always be scattered around the house so I am choosing to embrace it! Clara Kate and Ollie love to make pictures and notes for me all the time. Clara Kate and Levi are also into writing "books" too. Clara's have a lot of conversations in them and levi's tend to be a lot of background, but it is fun to see their little minds at work and developing all the time!
Ollie is enjoying using the number mat that Nana and Papa got fpr Clara Kate when she was preK age. He says thank you, Nana and Papa!
Friday was exciting around here and not just because it was a long weekend but because MI State played their first football game! As you can see, craig made team spirit mandatory for game watching! :)
Then we enjoyed a couple days of Athens fun and swimming. In these pictures ollie still had his life jacket on, but by the end, he was swimming! Ck was also swimming but in the deep end and jumping off the diving board herself. (She had done this before but was really nervous and wanted us to be really close, but this time she was confident!) And levi was working on summersaults and flip turns which is why he has a nose plug on!
I don't think I even have half of the "projects" that Ollie built today alone pictured here! He is busy building one thing after another. The one watering picture was when he was watering some lemon seeds he planted that came from a lemon we juiced this morning while making our watermelon gummies. And he learned to write his name well this week! He is super proud! However, it was a little tricky at first since he is a lefty. Every time he wrote it on the dry erase board it would wipe off the previous letter. All the kids learned on that little marker board but this was our first time for that. He figured it out though. He is one busy boy!
We are slowly getting back in the swing of things around here. The kids had a half week last week and now their first full week of school has started. I am so glad they do that half week first because transitioning back to waking early and getting right out the door is brutal! We were all zombies this past weekend, but the kids are enjoying 1st and 3rd grade! Clara Kate seems so much older this year! And Levi being in the third grade transition year (to more work, harder, and less recess!) seems crazy! Ollie is busy building, being silly and just enjoying mommy time. We have made a two story "fort" and now he is busy making a big porch for it. (The last picture. :)) Now I am being summoned for another building consultation!
Clara kate has glasses. It turns out she has her Daddys eyes so it is good we caught it early! She likes her glasses because they have hello kitty on the sides. When she put them on she said everything is so big! :) Now it will be so much easier for her to read!
They boys decided to "style" their hair today with water. Actually ollie did and levi thought it was funny and joined too! They are going to play at grandma and grandpas house while clara kate and i do some shopping and go to the eye dr.
